Antigen

Any substance that causes the body to make an immune response against that substance. Antigens include toxins, chemicals, or microorganisms introduced from outside the body.

Epitope

An epitope is a part of an antigen that the specific antibody (T cell or a B cell receptor) recognizes and binds.
