Penicillium

It is a common blue or green mold fungus that can be found in nature as well as in pharmaceutical manufacturing. Penicillin, a chemical used as an antibiotic that kills or slows the growth of some bacteria within the body, is produced by some members of the genus.

Conidia

Asexual reproduction in ascomycetes is by the formation of conidia. Conidium is an asexual reproductive spore produced by fungi at the tip or side of the filaments that make up a normal fungus' body (hyphae) or on special spore-producing structures called conidiophores.
