Estrogen is a sex hormone that helps develop and maintain the female reproductive system, regulating the menstrual cycle, ovulation, and other body systems.

Ovaries

These female glands on either side of the uterus produce and release the sex hormone estrogen. They also make the female reproductive sex cells (eggs or ova).
