Planet Jupiter

Fifth in line from the Sun, Jupiter is, by far, the largest planet in the solar system. Jupiter's familiar stripes and swirls are actually cold, windy clouds of ammonia and water, floating in an atmosphere of hydrogen and helium.

The Big Red Spot

The Great Red Spot is a powerful anticyclone, swirling counterclockwise around the center with wind speeds of 430 to 680 kilometers per hour (270 to 425 miles per hour). And because of its shape and structure, the Great Red Spot is sometimes described as a “pancake.”
